Any way to add more Seaports?

Featured Replies

I recently bought the Boeing 314 The Clipper flying boat by FS Pilots and I've been using LittleNavmap, scanning every inch of the map trying to see how many routes I could find for it and I have to say I'm quite disappointed with how few seaports there are in P3Dv5.  I only found them in North America and mostly just in the U.S. as well as some parts of Canada.  The entire rest of the world is completely devoid of them. I just want to know if there's any seaports out there, payware or freeware that I can install to add to the P3D world?  I did some searches but came up empty.  Maybe my Googling skills just suck but I searched seaports and similar terms for flight simulators and found nothing.  There has to be at least some payware seaports out there right?  Also, if I were to add some Orbx Regional scenery like California, Pacific Northwest, Fjords and Southern Alaska would that scenery include more seaports perhaps?

Dr. Google found this -- https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/7282/fsx-your-own-sea-port-part-ii-scenery/ -- supposed to work for both FSX and P3D. Hope this helps. And if I remember correctly, yes ORBX does add seaplane areas. You might want to check their store and/or post a question in their forums.

Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

Thank you!  That's something awesome looking freeware there.  I'm downloading it right now.  I will go check on the Orbx forum and see what they say.

I used Ideal Flight Professional 10.027eh (Flight1) to create airport subset files during its scenery indexing process. This function finds many different airport types including airports with water strips (includes add-on scenery if installed) and stores the ICAOs into text files that the program can use to filter. The Water Strips Airports output lists more than 500 airports with water strips in stock P3D v5.3:

You can get similar info with LittleNav Map.

368 airports (default P3DV5.3) with at least one Water RunWay
- 1 in Australia (YMET)
- 4 in Porto Rico (PR03, PR34, VI22, VI32)
- the remainder in USA  !

Good luck to explore the world with a seaboat...

I got 256 more with all my add-on,126 outside USA 😉
