Engines running at helipads.

Featured Replies

Is it possible to spawn at a helipad with my engine cold and dark?

Actually, I know it's possible because I have done so at at-least one pad in the SWS Okavango Delta package.

However, every other helipad I have spawned at my engine is running.

Is there a way to prevent this? How did the folks at SWS achieve this yet even the Asobo releases seem unable to do so?

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Robin

I think if scenery is done via the MS SDK and they code it as an actual runway (with or without an ICAO identifier), that will be the default behavior - engine running.

If you're using an add-on that has state saving and you exited the sim with the engine still running, I assume it will spawn that way when you select the same helicopter and start another flight.

Thanks for responding. The aircraft I am using is the Fly Inside Bell 206, which does not have state saving.

I would think Asobo would know better than to code Helipads as runways... SWS did.

Perhaps it's a difficult task, because the few addon sceneries I have tried including the awdesigns TFFj (ST. Barts), also has this design flaw.

Wish Asobo would give us the option to spawn with or without engines running.

This.
You can make helipads without a runway property in the SDK. I believe there will not be an "H" on the map then.
