February 25, 20233 yr Author I'm practicing tight pattern touch n' go in a small untowered airport. Is there a way to disable it, for example, by manually editing a configuration text file? Or turning on some kind of game mode? I know it's probably unrealistic in a simulation but so is not having a co-pilot in the cockpit. Why are there two buttons to disarm auto throttle? I'm assuming that it exists in real life too, but why? It doesn't make sense to me to have one engine in auto throttle mode and the other not in auto throttle mode. Win 11 Pro, MSFS Deluxe, Quest 2.

Both buttons do the same thing - they control autothrottle for both engines. There are two buttons so that either the pilot or copilot can easily deactivate the AT. The pilot would be controlling the power levers with his right hand, and it would be most natural to press the button on the left power lever with his thumb. If the copilot was flying, he would be operating the power levers with his left hand and would disable AT by pressing the button on the right lever with his thumb.
