How to disable auto-throttle in Longitude

Featured Replies

LShift-r disables auto-throttle. But that's only temporary. How do I disable auto-throttle for the entire flight from take-off to landing?

Win 11 Pro, MSFS Deluxe, Quest 2.

Er, don’t enable it?

The clickspot is on the forward side of the throttles.... basically really tough to get to without a quick view.

On my CH throttle if I quickly drop the power it kills AT - and then I just bump it up again.

Auto Throttle is off by default. As @btacon said, don't enable it with the button on the throttle or automatically with the FMS.

I can't find the clickspot for the auto-throttle. Is this a toggle for on/off, and is there a keyboard shortcut?

You know that there is one on the back as well right? I literally just look down and click it - been doing that since day 1.........

Never once used the one on the front, far too awkward !!

No I didn't.  Originally that one never worked for me.  Did they change something after AAU1?

I've always used that spot, not sure if AAU made it easier... literally never used the one at the front. Not in any version and believe me, if I've got auto throttles I am using them....

Weird question.

I don't get this. I have a button on my Alpha yoke assigned to toggle AT on and off and works with no problem.

Perhaps the OP is experiencing issues caused by the FMS. The FMS will take over thrust control if the Longitude is about to stall. Changing the autopilot from FMS to Manual thrust control should solve the problem under these circumstances.

I saw this YouTube video but it doesn't seem to be working for me. It disables auto-throttle temporarily but as soon as the plane is about to stall, the auto throttle comes back automatically. I want to completely disable auto throttle during the *entire* flight. From Take-off to Landing.

And why are there two buttons for auto throttle? It doesn't make sense to have one engine on auto throttle and the other one is not on auto throttle.

Also, is there an indication in the instrument panel indicating the status of the auto-throttle ie. has it been de-activated?  I know about the 'AT' and the flashing 'AT' sign when the auto throttle is active and when it is about to go inactive. The problem is the latter disappears eventually.

Envelope protection cannot be disabled, nor can it in the real aircraft.

If you cancel AT while MIN SPD is active, you can cancel that one instance, but once you're out of the MIN SPD range and go back into it, you will need to cancel AT again.
