External Camera Views *New to this*

Featured Replies

Good evening everyone,

I bought MSFS2020 this weekend, the graphics look great and it plays very well and smooth on my pc.

I am however having a problem with external camera views (the old spot view in previous versions). In external view, when turning or going up or down, the camera floats/lags behind the aircraft (like the old gradual transition in FS2004) to the point the aircraft almost disappears out of sight. I have FS9, FSX and P3dV4 and know you can have fixed camera views in them but I'm not sure about MSFS2020?

I have looked online for any answers but cannot figure the keyboard commands and cannot find a simple straight forward answer. I've looked at the controls section in the menu but there are so many options, I am not sure which ones to change or enable because I don't want to mess up any other camera settings.

Like I said, I'm very new to MSFS 2020 as only just bought it this weekend.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

The default key command for toggling between the external view and the VC is the "End" key.

I then can pan around with the mouse, and use mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
