When I go from 2D to VR (HP Reverb G2) I allways have a soundcard issue:

I have Hapticonnect to a separate USB soundcard for the Buttkicker. When I switch to VR the Hapticonnect loses connection to the USB card.

I also had a similar issue with a Bluetooth Wireless Headset: switching to VR resulted allways to disconnection of the BT headset.

Does anyone have a clue?

The default setting for audio using WMR (windows mixed reality) is to make the G2's USB audio device the "system's default audio device" when the Mixed Reality Portal app is running with an enabled G2; this effectively disables the audio to other audio devices.  I'm guessing that the Hapticonnect software didn't see/detect this WMR change of the audio device.  Not sure how that software is configured, but I'm guessing when the G2 is enabled Hapticonnect needs access to the G2's audio device, which Win10 calls "Realtek USB2.0 Audio", and I'm guessing it's not doing that automatically thus you may have to set Hapticonnect to that audio device manually.  BTW if needed the WMR audio behavior can be changed by the "Audio and speech" panel of the Mixed Reality Portal app.  Hope this helps.

Another thing to try is to start the Hapticonnect software after the G2 is enabled by the MRP app.  Probably the best solution, wouldn't be surprised if all G2 + Buttkicker users do this.

Yeah I do that as a workaround, was just wondering if others experience the same little annoyance.

In WMR, audio settings, you have an option to "Mirror headset audio to desktop".

Did you try that?

Beware that there is a bug on this option: here, after starting WMR, I need to switch it off then back on to be sure it's active.

I'm using a Butkicker as well but without additionnal soundcard.
