C414 Electronic Flight Bag Tablet

Featured Replies

Is there any documention specific to the EFB tablet?

I used the EFB to start the engines, they started, but as soon as let up on the hold, the engines quit..

Also, I adjusted the fuel, and it seemed to update the Fuel Management System.

I mapped a key to Repair and Refuel, and it isn’t detected in the C414. Is setting it via the EFB the proper method?  My engines quit on two flights and I have no idea what caused it from the fuel management perspective.

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any documentation on the EFB other than what's in the C414 FSW manual.

Couple of things to note/check:

-- You can set the fuel level either by the EFB or from the Asobo widget fuel drop down menu which is at the top of the screen once you have loaded the C414.

-- after loading fuel you should check the quantity in the tanks with the fuel gauges that are on the panel in front of the co-pilot

-- check that the fuel tank selectors are set correctly.

-- when you shut down the fuel quantity in the tanks is saved and will be the starting fuel the next time you load the plane.

-- if you are using a PC, not Xbox, make sure the automixture setting under the sim's Assistance Options > Aircraft Systems is not on.

-- note the engines will fail if you keep the manifold pressure greater than 35 (above the green arc) for more than a few minutes after takeoff.

-- when starting the engines with the EFB, you need to hold the button down until both engines are up and running.

-- as far as I know, the C414 does not make use of the sim's Repair and Refuel setting by default.

-- there is a lot of C414 support provided on the FSW Discord site.

-- always good to make sure you have the latest version of both the C414 and the GPS unit you are using.

I looked at Discord  and it is pretty pricey for the amount I would use it. Even though you have to deal with ads, AvSim / FlightSim.com are still the best value!

If Discord had an option to subscribe to a single company at a reasonable price point, that would be great.

Thanks!

On my iPhone, when I go to the link, it wants to load the app with in-app purchases.  Unless you use it free via a web browser.

 Thanks!
