March 13, 20233 yr Hi everyone. I have become disenchanted with trying to learn how to effectively fly fixed wing aircraft. Not that it's boring, just that I don't have the patience to learn everything that has to be learned. I really initially purchased MSFS to sightsee the world. I recently decided to stop trying to learn how to fly all these fancy planes and focus on helicopters. Not that I think they are easy to learn how to fly, but rather that I think they may the most fun for me to sightsee areas nice and slow to enjoy the scenary along the way. Getting from point a to point b, following proper air traffic protocols, is not what I am looking for. So yesterday I broke out my brand new Thrustmaster joystick (bought it a year ago and plugged it in for the first time yesterday) to begin configuring it for the Airbus H135 helicopter. I am following a YouTube video on setting up the controller bindings for a helicopter. My questions today have to do with the cockpit view on that helicopter. When I first spawn into it, I am positioned in the cockpit on the right side. If I look to the left, there is someone sitting on the left side, mostly blocking my view out the left side window(s). I am not used to seeing things that way. Is that person on the left supposed to be me? Is it a supposed copilot? Is there a way to not have a person sitting in the cockpit? I tried using the VFR Pilot View Save function to change the default cockpit view so that a Reset Cockpit View command would put the view where I wanted it, but that does not seem to be working. I invoke the command to save the new view but the reset command keeps taking me back to the default cockpit view. Can folks who fly the H135 give me some insights as to how the view in the cockpit looks for you? And I am also interested in knowing how you set up the cockpit camera views for the hatswitch on your controller. The video I am watching for help tallks about setting up the cameras but does not show what bindings work best. Thanks all ........ March 14, 20233 yr On most helicopters, incl. the H135, the Cabri G2 and the Bell 407, the pilot sits on the right hand side, so this is perfectly normal. I don’t fly the 135, but I’m pretty sure you should be able to get rid of the copilot. It might be in the fuel specs in the toolbar, or somewhere. The manual should specify where. the bindings specific for helicopters have been included in the anniversary edition, but the H135 may still be using the old bindings…ailerons for cyclic roll, elevator for cyclic pitch and rudder for torque pedals. Hope this helps, but anyway, you should definitely look at the manual for answers. I9-13900K, RTX 4090, Reverb G2, Simrig Motion platform
