WinWing Throttle Questions

Featured Replies

Just got the Orion 2 Throttle f/18 version and it seems to be acting up a bit with the PMDG 737.

I am trying to set the axis for the throttles and it doesn't seem to like what I'm doing.    Any help?  It seems to only control one of the engines and set the reversers when I try to map it.

hmmm...

I have the throttle and it is working fine in for me as two axis throttle in the PMDG, though I do not have it mapped with reverse.  I use a different axis for that.  I am using FSUIPC pay version.

I would not recommend the throttle to anyone else.  Was very disappointed when one button stopped working, their first reaction was to say it was out of warranty.  I sent proof it was well within the warranty period.  The "proof" came right off my account page in their web site - just trying to blow me off hoping I'd give up.  They shipped off some parts that and it was up to me to tear apart the throttle and handle - and those parts didn't fix it.  Finally just did give up and decided to have an INOP button.

That's too bad Joe. I've heard other stories of WinWing welching on their warranty. I have the Orion 2 Throttle and stick (with F16 stick) and so far mine has been flawless and I'm very happy with it.

Regarding the OP, I'm not at my PC ATM but I've mapped (iirc) throttles 2 and 4 axis to the right throttle handle and 1 and 3 to the left handle. For reverse, I have one of the buttons on the left handle mapped to 'reverse throttle toggle'? (I don't recall the exact assignment name) and when I hold that down and advance the throttles, I get reverse throttle. After messing with a couple of approaches, this is what I settled on.

That sucks Joe.    I'm terribly happy with mine right now, it's by far the best thing I've ever bought for flight sim gear.   Sorry to hear that though.

I'll try that odourboy.   I got it figured out for just a single axis to both throttles, and even though that's all I'll ever use for the PMDG...   I just want to be able to operate both engines independently because I *can*!

I figured out how to map the speed, heading, and altitude to the knobs...  have you figured out how to map the course?    Not really a key component, but I'd like it to be there...  because you know...    It would be cool!

I mapped the CRS rotary CW/CCW knob to the corresponding OBS/VOR 1 input iirc.
