April 14, 20233 yr Excuse my punctuation's etc. Anyone know what exactly is injected in Microsoft Flight Simulator's weather from metars? I don't even hear thunder anymore from TS. It would be some hot stuff if they could inject things like hail simulation, smoke, volcanic ash and whatever else is in the metar legend. All apologies I tried to copy and paste the metar abbreviations into this post. Not about to sign up for another sight to post an image. Burnt out on signing up for stuff. So here are the links. https://www.aviationweather.gov/metar/symbol https://met.nps.edu/~bcreasey/mr3222/files/helpful/DecodeMETAR-TAF.html With all that said anyone know what is currently being injected at this time in the sim from metar reports Happy Landings, Josh
April 14, 20233 yr Asobo uses Meteoblue service for weather injection. Actually it's hard to create realistic weather depiction purely based on METAR/TAF. METAR/TAF by itself represent terminal weather withing 5 miles of airport that reports it. In order, to get better picture there different weather reports and charts combined like G-mets, surface analysis , weather depiction, wind aloft, prognostic and so on Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). April 15, 20233 yr Author Rgr that sd_flyer. It's great where we have gone so far with this technology. It's just after a few years kinda getting ant's in the pant's wondering If they can keep climbing with this technology on the physics and injecting weather related phenomenon's into are environment.
