Flight Plan TOD level intermediary

Featured Replies

Many thank-you Dave for PILOT2ATC and with the possibility for using before buy your Demo during 10 days it was perfect😀 , now I bought it and use with MSFS2020 and SimBrief to export Flyplan
I have a question about TOD. I do not know how it is in real life so perhaps it is normal that i do not received iinstructions.
Concerning the TOC I obtain from ATC and Copilot all information about ft and climb to level 090 and 130 and 350 conform to my  fly plan (for example)
When we arrive to TOD I do not received descent feet conform to my fly plan. But with Center frequencies

is it necessary to request an En route Descent for every Level we add in our Flyplan? We have instruction after TOD from Center but  ATC give the approache parameters for example 2500ft but nothing before that.
for example I fly to Level FL330, I do not have the TOD descent to Level 280 and minus.

Sorry if this question had been asked I am looking for in the forum without success.

Many thanks your explanation.
Your software is for me excellent. I do not use IVA0 or VATIM and it is a good companion ATC.

Regards from France and sorry for my english

If you have a STAR in the flight plan, ATC might just clear you to "...descend via the xxxx arrival to nnnn feet...".  That is clearance to follow the restrictions in the STAR, if any, and descend to the given altitude.   If getting vectors for the approach, ATC might give you a few altitude assignments after you get near the destination and while being vectored.

Only if there is no STAR would ATC give you multiple clearances to lower altitudes to get you down to approach altitudes.

Many thanks Dave for your explanation.
To complete my request
Do-you think that it will be complicated to add some ATC instructions during TOD as you made with TOC?.
Or perhaps it is not realist.
I see an advantage for beginners pilots to know when to descend and not forget it.

im my cas I use some phrase as report or information to ATC and it answer to me it is a little more immersive perhaps not realistic.

You will always be cleared for a descent in one way or another.

If you want to always get the controller stepping you down, then don't have a STAR in your flight plan and uncheck the option in Config on the FltPlan tab for "ATC Assigns STAR".  That should get you what you want.
