May 10, 20233 yr No, I was long gone by the time Mt. St Helens erupted. I wasn't even in the Air Force anymore. In 1980 I was working in Denver as a development engineer designing in house test equipment for the manufacturing floor of a company that made mass storage tape and disk drives. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
