My experience so far after only five or six descents between the 747 and 787 is it acs exactly as any Boeing aircraft would. Make sure your MDCU altitude has been dialed down from your cruise to your desired final altitude, make sure VNAV is on and that’s it. When the aircraft reaches the TOD marker, descent will commence automatically. -B

I did not get a TOD on the display but did set the altitude after I was about 95 miles out> gessing TOD at 35K. Chris Chiozza
