Data Not Appearing In My MSFS AppLocal Packages Directory

Featured Replies

Another outcome of my crash yesterday. After what appeared to be a completely successful reinstall I’m finding that the default pathing for aircraft, specifically for flight plans is not working. Here is what I just wrote at PMDG forum but I see now it’s the same for every plane I have that uses SimBrief for Flight Plan download.  It appears the expected folders are missing and I can’t find them anywhere.  I hope someone is more insightful than I am, I’m completely burnt from yesterday. Anyway here is my issue and TIA to all!

I lost my MSFS install yesterday due to something completely unrelated to PMDG installations but after a 24 effort to restore I was successful. Out of caution I uninstalled and reinstalled all 4 of my MSFS 737’s and I then ran SimBrief to load a flight plan and SimBrief could not find ANY PMDG data located in the referenced directory above.

I looked into the AppData path where my PMDG planes for MSFS always reside but I couldn’t find them so I went and created the folder structure. SimBrief will not automatically download a plan but it will do it if I say export this file only from the SimBrief path line for that particular aircraft.

Im lost and completely stumped. If a ticket is needed I will gladly open one but in the meantime I was hoping someone here would say, “Oh, that’s easy! Just do this, followed by that and poof, fixed”.

That’s my hope anyways and TIA.

Assuming Store version look here:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work\Flightplans

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-737\work\WX

For 736, 738 or 739 substitute the appropriate value in place of 737 above.

Thanks Somiller, and your absolutely correct.  That is the correct pathing for the PMDG jets flightplans. That’s not the problem I’m having. The problem I’m having is that my new install of MSFS is not allowing those folders to be created it seems.  After I uninstalled  and reinstalled the jets none of them had their pathing for flight plans.  I created the applicable folders but it seems that SimBrief can’t deliver the FP.  It very well May be a permissions issue as the entire Packages folder is Read Only for files in the folders and sub folders..

Anyway, that’s the issue and thanks for taking the time to share your ideas.
