I spoke too soon...as in before I had even loaded into KIAH for the first time. It is so bad that I'll never use it. I'll let learner run on it a few days and send the file to Nico, but quite honestly I'm not interested in paying for the electricity required for my laptop to run it for a week for this airport. But thank you again for providing the initial learn on it...I used it and it worked well.

EDIT:

In fairness to FSDT and the community I need to add that there are users who really like this airport and have stated in another thread that it looks really good to them. It seems I am more critical of the color correction/low detail of the taxiways and grassy areas between taxiways and taxiway bridges. I like FSDT sceneries and own all but 1 or 2, but I find KIAH disappointing.

@somillerI have good news for you Steve (and all):

In the new PSXTraffic there is no learning needed and the separate  Learner tool is gone. It comes packed with already learned airports!

How come?

Well, Balthasar from RT gives me each week a full world wide download of all ground traffic data for that week. With a special tool, kindly created by one of our users, all airports that have ground traffic (whether stock, simaddon or third party) will be filled with parking options (takes about 8 hours at my new powerful cpu). The data is enriched with registration codes and callsigns, giving better static livery matches and prevents doubled liveries (live/static). The data is stored at half hours instead of hours for more precision, and it covers all days of the week. All these learned airports are part of PSXTraffic

I will regularly update these airport files so it follows summer/winter time schedules, and it automatically updates with new and/or out of business airlines.

In summary: we get much better airport files, using a lot less electricity. And Balthasar can get rid of all these Learner apps running 24/7, stressing his servers.

When I am back home I'll first ask for beta testers (MSFS and P3D), preferably users with a lot of third party addon airports.

Nico, that is great news! Very much looking forward to trying this out when possible. Will any airport in the world be included as long as it has ground traffic?

Yes it will. If you see gnd traffic now with RT it will be filled.

I agree. FSDT has lost it's prime level as a scenery developer many years ago. KORD is good though, since it was made from the scratch. KIAH and KCLT are FSX/P3D derivatives.

I remember the first time I loaded into FSDT's KORD - I couldn't believe how realistic it was and it seemed like being there IRL. It's a shame the surrounding MSFS scenery is so bad, what with the terrible color inconsistencies...some tiles/areas are really green, with nasty green roads, and other areas that are an ugly flat brown/tan and utterly lacking in realism. But the worst part is the intersection of the two - it's such a shock to see.

It appears, from looking at google maps and bing maps, that FSDT used a low-res, blurry ortho image for the areas of the taxiways and medians instead of using high-res textures for the taxiways. To make it worse they did a really bad job of color correcting said ortho images. Things look pretty good from 1000 or so feet and up, but not at ground-level.
