May 31, 20233 yr I wanted to share my settings for the Reverb G2 without Motion Reprojection (MR) here for anyone who doesn't use the official MSFS forums. @ExeRay has already shared a great guide for people who want to use MR, this is a guide for people who don't like the artifacts caused by using MR and want an alternative. Please note that these settings are tuned to hold a minimum of 45fps and are what works best for me, with my hardware, and with the visual settings that I desire, as well as for use in the kind of aircraft that I enjoy flying, which is GA. YMMV. I have a 5800x3d CPU, 4090 GPU, 64gb DDR4 RAM and a 2560x1440 165Hz monitor. Let everyone know below if this guide helps you achieve smoother, clearer results with your Reverb G2. Disclaimer (i) Take a screenshot of your current settings before you start making changes (ii) While looking out of the front window is smooth for me, looking out of the side windows is not as smooth. These settings do remove 95% of the mini-stutters I see looking down at the ground (iii) 2d will always be a smoother experience thanks to Frame Generation and a lower screen resolution (iv) I use OpenXR Toolkit to lock the framerate. Do not use RTSS to lock the framerate when using these settings (v) DX12 (beta) should be used with these settings (vi) If your setup struggles with these settings, change Terrain Level of Detail to 100 (CPU) and lower the OpenXR Toolkit resolution to 3000px (GPU). I see 10fps difference between 3500px and 4000px. (vii) I don't know why 47 fps provides the smoothest movement on my setup but it makes a huge difference compared to 45 fps. Try adjusting the frame rate throttling option in OpenXR Toolkit by 1 frame at a time, starting at 45fps until you see the scenery move by smoothly in your headset. (viii) When you have set the resolution in OpenXR Toolkit, exit VR and then re-enter VR for the settings to take effect (ix) Developer mode is Off in MSFS (x) Turbo mode (Experimental) is Off in OpenXR Toolkit as it can cause stuttering with these settings SETTINGS GUIDE 1. May 31, 20233 yr I find these kinds of detailed run-throughs very helpful. I don't follow every setting, but on items where my own settings are different, I know it is worth doing some detailed 'before and after' tests on my own setup. Many thanks for sharing 🙂 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
June 1, 20233 yr Author Unfortunately Avsim does not allow updating of posts, so instead of posting this all over again for the latest Nvidia drivers that came out yesterday, 535.98, you can find my updated settings over at the official MSFS forums here > https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/reverb-g2-settings-guide-without-motion-reprojection/594674?u=manicminer00 I do recommend giving them a read as I am finally enjoying very smooth performance with these new settings and the new drivers. June 1, 20233 yr Isn't 3500x3417 overkill on the G2? Just asking, because the native (hardware) render resolution is just over 3000 px at 100%. (2960x2960 real pix p. eye). Oops, I was little over enthousiastic here, it's only 2160x2160. Edit 2: I also notice that you limit the clarity you might get from the higher resolution by setting texture resolution to high and not ultra. Try it, it will improve clarity in the VC and on the digital screens. While pancake simmers complained about the small altitude digits on the ATR pfd, I can perfectly read it from pilots position 🙂 Edited June 1, 20233 yr by Gerwil
