WARNING: Simconnect error detected: Exception received: 3

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what is causing this warning to appear whilst MSFS2020 is loading?

Once MSFS 2020 is loaded, RAAS Pro appears to be working correctly.

Are you using the freeware program, "Addon Linker" by chance?

Yes, but only to manage a few freeware sceneries and aircraft liveries.

Thanks, your info may be useful to the devs. I will be surprised if this issue has anything to do with Addon Linker because, certainly, in my case RAAS Pro is not amongst the items managed by Addon Linker.

Well, of the people who reported this issue, the common denominator was Addon Linker.

None of us on the FS2Crew dev team can reproduce this I'm afraid.

Did you try installing Addon Linker to be 100% sure that is causing the issue?

I have the same issue and do not use Addon Linker.  However, after MSFS finishes opening I am able to click OK on the error message and everything seems to work fine, so it seems PB Express is needing the program to finish opening before it can make a connection.  But clicking OK to get rid of the error message will not work until MSFS is done opening.

I don't have PB Express but do use Addons Linker (which I think is actually a 'red herring') - same error message and can clear it by clicking OK... RAAS Pro seems to be working properly, just the annoying pop-up.

I have brought this to the attention of the dev of Addons Linker

It's because you're loading the app *before* the plane has finished loading.

Ok, thanks.  I'm not actually launching the app myself, it is starting on it's own during MSFS startup.  I would guess there is an option to turn that off, I will go look.  Thanks.

@byork Same here... thanks... I also have auto-start during MSFS startup enabled so will disable/reconfigure and see how that goes...

@byork

Yeahhhh, you're the man... on the money... sorted... thanks so much... happy again now!

Something which may already be on your 'to-do' list but if not, any chance you could get the min takeoff flaps and min landing flaps fields to auto-populate based on the values entered into the FMC?

Glad you got it sorted 🙂

You mean for the PMDG 737?

Yes, from a personal point of view, PMDG 737-800 and also FBWA32NX if possible but I think others would also welcome, for example, Fenix A320 and some of the latest aircraft 🤞

BTW, a similar conversation regarding the simconnect issue has been taking place on Discord for quite a while. I have shared the latest news and given you full credit for coming up with the solution.
