June 29, 20232 yr Hi, I'm am getting a database error on startup as shown. While the program loads, it takes about 5 minutes before I can use P2A. I had another version of P2A installed but have tried to upgrade to the latest version. Help is appreciated. -- Frank AKA, Virtual Aviator | Virtual Aviation Aviator Founder, FlightSimSupport.com It's the Journey; the destination ain't moving
June 29, 20232 yr Commercial Member That’s a Microsoft SQL Database Engine error. Shut down P2A and try the following: ⦁ Open a Windows command prompt as administrator. ⦁ Type the following command: SQLLocalDB stop "MSSQLLocalDB" ⦁ Type the following command: SQLLocalDB delete "MSSQLLocalDB" ⦁ Type the following command: SQLLocalDB create "MSSQLLocalDB" ⦁ Type the following command: SQLLocalDB start "MSSQLLocalDB" ⦁ Try starting P2A again If you recently updated to Windows 11 from Windows 10, there are some Microsoft issues with running SQLLocalDB on Windows 11. Other users seem to have found a solution to this problem: (Scroll down to the post by “tylenolwithwings”) https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/625660-sql-server-2014-and-windows-11/ Follow his steps and then repeat the above commands. June 30, 20232 yr Author Diregard... Let me try again using an administrator prompt. Apologies. Thanks for taking a look at this issue. I wasn't able to create the MSSQLLocalDB. I suppose I will have to take this up with Microsoft or can you provide more direction? Thanks Frank Edited June 30, 20232 yr by virtualgaa I didn't follow instructions. -- Frank AKA, Virtual Aviator | Virtual Aviation Aviator Founder, FlightSimSupport.com It's the Journey; the destination ain't moving
June 30, 20232 yr Commercial Member If issuing the commands doesn't work, and you upgraded to Win11 from Win10, you need to go to the link provided and do some Windows Registry activities to get it to work. The other option that some have taken is to go back to Win10. Dave
June 30, 20232 yr Author Interesting.... I got the same error running under administrator. This was a Windows 11 fresh install. I don't have Win 10 to roll back to. I'll try poking around Microsoft's site to see if someone there can help with the database isssue. -- Frank AKA, Virtual Aviator | Virtual Aviation Aviator Founder, FlightSimSupport.com It's the Journey; the destination ain't moving
