Problems with frame generation and vsync. Please help!

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone, I'll be brief...
Meanwhile I use a 60hz monitor with gsync, combined with trackir5, after numerous tests, I came to the conclusion that I have almost perfect fluidity by disabling gsync, using vsync (normal) in ncp combined with the fps limiter (always in ncp) at 60fps . Everything is fine, if it weren't, and that's why I'm asking for help here, that after a few seconds that I start using the sim (it does it with any plane, both default and addon) the ground starts snapping, if I move the view with the trackir it's very fluid, but the underlying ground snaps. The nice thing is that if I do ALT+ENTER, everything goes super smooth for a few more minutes (not many) and then the problem starts again. I really don't know where to hit my head, what do you think this behavior depends on? I accept any test proposal to see if I can solve it. Thank you!

There's been problems with FG/vsync when not using gsync since release 1.30.9 back in January. The thread I've linked below is marked as 'bug-logged' which according to the moderators means that Asobo are able to replicate the issue but it remains unfixed as I make this reply. At the end of the beta during which I reported the issue a moderator mentioned it would be left as an open issue so that the devs could assess how significant the bug was. I guess it's low!

I’m not sure it’s an issue related to the msfs update itself. I’ve seen this same issue on the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. I think it’s more related to Frame Generation + Vsync.

Maybe they’ve updated the dlss library and the on this version from January.

And yet if you read the thread you'll see that I proved that it is 🙂

TLDR I swapped between the prebeta and beta version where the issue was introduced while making no other changes and the issue came and went...

That is also proven not the case as you can read in the thread.

To be clear I should add that I'm not saying that the issue the OP is experiencing is exactly what my bug report was showing just that something was changed by Asobo in ver 1.30.9 with the handling of FG which caused the workaround of setting vsync in nvidia control panel to be unusable (when not using gsync technology).
