Black Square Baron Pressurization

Featured Replies

I seem to have trouble with the pressurization in this plane.  I don't have issues in the King Air or ever in previous planes in MSFS that were modeled well.  So for example, I performed a flight up to 12,000 with a takeoff field elevation of 3800.  I did the test, as per checklist, and did have a negative drop.  I re-engage the seal and pressurization switches with an altitude dialed into the inner ring of about 12,500.  On climb out the needles don't seem to move much, then at some point the PSI climbs up to exceed differential and I have to raise the inner altitude setting to about 15,000.  What could I be doing wrong?

I have written to Just Flight, no response yet. EXACTLY!!!! the same EXACT thing. Real life pilot but little experience of pressurized aircraft. Thought MAYBE the heating box was not pressurized, or maybe pulling out the heat knob did not go straight to the heatbox and took in some fresh air??  Went up frozen to the chair and same thing. NO MATTER WHAT I DID. Hours of flight no resolve. On X-Plane forum there is a manual for download, TrapperDan 1984-1986 Beechcraft Baron. I believe its the pressurized version....however for 2 days my password and reset password does not work so I cannot get to it. ONLY the Differential warning goes off. There is a vent knob on the ceiling between the visors and ITS SHUT. Also on the pilots sidewall towards the floor there is a air lever.

If I climb too fast that's the same problem I encounter. What I do is to climb to 10,000 at a climb rate of 1,000 fpm, then reduce my climb rate to 500fpm. This procedure works for me and I usually fly cruise alt of 15,000 with press dial set to 11k. This is just me, no idea on how it works in real life.

Apparently you can out-climb the pressurization system, so you have to make sure you turn the rate dial up high and minimize your climb rate. I feel like the Baron is more sensitive, but I've had it happen in the TBM too.  I've managed to reduce this occurrence by adjusting things.  I haven't flown the Baron much lately, as the AP keeps busting the altitude limiter after the latest updates to the sim.  That problem had stopped but now it's doing it again.  It could be the TDS Garmin, but I think it's the code MS is messing with.
