July 24, 20232 yr This is FYI mostly. In effort to make all controller profiles completely automatic, I set up a singe profile in msfs and control everything unique to an aircraft in LAaO. This works very well except for the airliners. I have tried every throttle axis I can find and nothing makes the throttles in the A310 work. I had to set throttles in the msfs profile to get them to move. For the other airliners, I ended up using "Simulator Events" (second entry) and locating a "Throttle Set" command that made them work. No such luck with the A310 so I had to stay with the msfs profile for that one. The Flaps axis jitters around and is completely unusable with a number of the aircraft (e.g. A310) so I ended up setting that in the msfs profile as well. Speed Brakes work just fine in LAaO however. I tried fiddling with "integer" vrs "float" and the "detent steps" settings and it would jump to some really large value and appear to be locked up. I ended up having to delete the axis and start over. It appears to me that the axes section needs a little work. Great application though. I love it! July 24, 20232 yr Commercial Member MSFS in general prefers SDK events (second box) over variables (first box). For your convenience you will find the most commonly used events in a separate group right at the top of the event selection tree. In MSFS try the events that end on _EX1 first (especially for the throttles). AAO is just an interpreter between your hardware and the MSFS SDK. What exactly is working how for each individual aircraft is potetially different for every model, it depends on how exactly the aircraft developer implements it. There are many aircraft where neither SDK events nor SDK variables work for a particular "thing" and where one has to resort to LVars or BVars. Edited July 24, 20232 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
July 24, 20232 yr Author Thanks for the prompt reply. I have spent the last two hours reading through all of the support posts and have learned a lot. I should have done that instead of posting here. As you say, using the events box and looking for _EXT1 is a great tip as it often works. Still can't find the right setup for the A310 throttles and that dreaded Condition Lever in the C208. I have a lot of digging to go before I am ready to tackle those things but at least I am certain AAO can do these things. I just need to figure out how. Thank you much for such great software. I guess now I need to get my degree from SDK University. July 24, 20232 yr Author not for me Spoke too soon. For some reason, shutting the machine down cleared things. Throttles are working now. Thanks Dazzler!
