August 27, 20232 yr Hi, I am looking at the METAR at KLAS and noticed the QNH is reported to 1015 but at the same time the SLP is also reported to be 1011.3hPa. Whats the cause of this disrepancy in the METAR? Thanks METAR: KLAS 270956Z 20005KT 10SM CLR 30/02 A2996 RMK AO2 SLP113 T03000022 Michael Moe Michael Moe
August 27, 20232 yr Commercial Member Hi Michael! The second value is the more accurate one because it is corrected for non-standard temperature and this is the value that would be used to obtain "calibrated altitude", but the first value is the one that pilots actually use to set their altimeter to get "indicated altitude". from Google 😁
