4.9.1 NO Soft Airlines

Recommended Posts

I don't want to see business jets at gates.  I think that is what this section is for.  Problem is I don't know 1) which document in the input folder I need to modify and 2) it is a little confusing what I must add.

If I want to exclude all business jets, I am just adding the following line:  "<no_soft_airlines>"

Note that this is about Soft Learning. Where to soft park an aircraft that flies in or out an airport, but does not start at a gate or reaches a gate, because of missing ADS-B data.

1) you must create a text-document named no_soft_airlines.xml

With the following lines:

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<no_soft_airlines>

    <NoSoft airls="your soft airlines here" />

</no_soft_airlines>

Instead of "your soft airlines here" specify the ICAO codes of the airlines you do not want soft parked at gates, separated by comma's.

Like this

    <NoSoft airls="EJA,LJX" />

You have to specify the ICAO codes. All busines jets is not an aircraft category in PSXT, it knows Light, Small, Large, Heavy, HighPerformance and Helicopters.

No, but if you want to make one for the community? 😉

Or maybe someone else has done that already ?

here you go. I am not sure if this is all of them but I haven't seen a business jet parked at gates since I did this:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<no_soft_airlines>
 <NoSoft airls="GALX,C700,GA5C,C550,GLF4,E55P,PVT,LJ45,C25C,C680,C25B,G280,C560,CL60,C525,F2TH,HDJT,CL30,HA4T,GA6C,H25B,C700,FA50,CL30,PC12,PC12,H25B,C56X,LJ40,C25A,C510,GL5T,F900,E55P,GLF5,CL35,E545,B350,LJ60,C68A,LJ31,GLF6,GALX,GLF2,E50P,BE30,LJ35,LJ75,BE40,ASTR,G280" />
</no_soft_airlines>

???????????????????????????????????????

These are aircraft types, not airline codes.....

In the next version I will check what you enter in the no_soft_airlines...

Note that the size of the parking positions will already have the effect that business jets, being small, are matched with smaller positions than gates. Hence I doubt that the no_soft_airlines file makes much sense.

yes you are correct. I think because I had PVT in the list, it was preventing those from parking there. Anyhow I only have learn real set so I shouldn't see any soft parking anyway

Are you sure they were not live aircraft?

Oh...they could have been live.  But do private jets park at gates IRL?

Note no live aircraft

Edit:  Looking at them now they might be generic (no livery) CRJs.
