November 3, 20232 yr Through The Pass Today's flight will be over the High passes of the Himalayas in P38s. This flight is 342 miles with 10 stops. This flight will be challenging as most of the airports are at very high altitude and with only 1800' or less runways. Your approach speed will be the difference of success or failure and dive flaps are your friends, so be careful. Most all of this flight is at High altitude so if you are not flying the P38 choose carefully. We will want to go about 250 mh. There are 5 airport scenery's that need to be Downloaded. Also we will be using my NZ weather and set your time to 12PM. November 6, 20232 yr Eye-candy afficionados may take a look at Sergio Del Rosso’s Simikot [VNST] (222MB) available at Flightsim.to. This is a large file and requires a couple of his libraries. (You may have this from our previous flights in the area.) It does look pretty good. This is not necessary as the default works well enough. --Mike MacKuen
November 6, 20232 yr Do we start at 1800 UTC, i.e. 1 hour earlier? Or am I wrong again? Regards Gunter Schneider

November 7, 20232 yr I’d like to echo Bill’s applause for the NHK film “Devil’s Gorge”. Just an a amazing bit of canyoneering and an engaging documentary. Great find, Josh.I had thought that Josh was severely testing our ability employ Kelly Johnson’s famous P-38 “Bush Package”. A bit of masochism on his part... However, after seeing the film, it is clear that Josh has a soft spot. He did not ask us to land at Seti Gorge. --Mike MacKuen
November 7, 20232 yr Ok, thanks. For us in Europe 18:00 UTC means we depart 1 hour earlier, as the 18:00 UTC before the time change was 20:00 local in Europe and after the time change 18:00 UTC is 19:00 local. No problem, just a point to remember. Regards Gunter Schneider
November 7, 20232 yr The "Standard Time" (not "Daylight/Summer Time") for Wednesday and Saturday is 1900 UTC. The 1800 start time in the original post is a normal copy-and-paste error that appears to have sneaked into this week's announcement. We shall all make the mental adjustment and show up at 1900 UTC.
