November 21, 20232 yr Here is a U.S. state tucked away in the (farthest) northeastern-most part of the country, probably not getting its (full) share of due in terms of natural beauty. There are some places you visit that feel so enchanting, leaving such a permanent impression...that you might've said to yourself, "Here is a place I would like to visit again...someday...". That was true for me of my one visit to this state and specifically of a few days' stay around its Acadia National Park on the Atlantic coast. Maine has also mountains, that seem isolated and lonely...such mountains have always inspired in me a sense of melancholy wonder. The mountains of Maine may not be as tall as the (fearsome) Himalayas or the Andes, of my recent excursions, in the MSFS world, but surely, they appear pretty in their backdrop... (see images below). These Maine mountains, though apparently isolated, are actually part of the great Appalachian Mountain Range. In fact, the highest summit in Maine (see my fly-by of Mount Katahdin, shot #s 9/10, where my Co-pilot seems to take an interest too...🙂...) may be considered the starting point of the Appalachian chain that extends for one-and-a-half thousand miles to the south. While at Acadia, I recall looking nearly a thousand feet down, at the sparkling blue waters of the two lakes (Eagle Lake and Jordan Pond), from a scenic overlook, on the adjacent mountains that rise above these lakes. So, here, we go, departing from the city of Edmundston in New Brunswick, just minutes north of the Maine border, with my eyes set for my destination point...the Jordan Pond of the Acadia National Park. Life has got in the way of repeating an actual visit to this place, so, the next best thing, I thought, is to do a visit in the MSFS world... (apparently, however, in spite of some convincing, this was not good enough for my better half...🙂...Oh well...), so, a future (RW) visit would still be a desirable thing...I think... Anyway, in my journey, after overflying the beautiful (enroute) scenery of these gentle hills and mountains, lakes, ponds, and rivers, and, most of all, the vibrant greenery of this landscape, I've finally landed (did require a bit of skill...🙂...) on the waters of Jordan Pond... Hope you enjoy this set of images. Thanks for viewing.
