December 9, 20232 yr Hello all, I have a problem (since at least SU13) and I'm wondering if this is known and there is any workaround: Whenever I create a IFR flight plan within the sim or via SimBrief and the departure is set to anything else than "direct", the starting location is always reset to a runway. Even if I repeatedly try to select a gate or parking location, the dropdown menu resets to the runway and the flight will start sitting on the runway, even though on the world map the gate or parking location is shown as start of the flight plan. Is it only me, and if not, is there any known workaround? I can start from a gate or parking though, but then I have to set the departure to "direct" which is not what I want.

The dropdown box lists the runway as the start point. However, after I finish messing about with all the route options, I then choose a gate by clicking on it via the map. As long as my route holds the gate as the departure point on the map (doesn't matter that the dropdown box reads the preferred runway) it always starts my flight at the gate. December 9, 20232 yr That was SO annoying for me. I tried everything, but nothing worked. Here is a sure fire solution, which requires some extra steps. First, download and install little navmap following the instructions. Then setup up your simbrief ID/information in it. Once done, you can now select file/open flightplan from simbrief and download it. Once it pulls it in, select create flight plan. The map will load showing your route. zoom in to your departure route and look at the available parking locations. Now click the "select departure position" button. From there, you will have the list of parking locations. Click the one you want and select ok. Once done, a thick yellow circle will be around the parking spot in the map. Now select file/export as MSFS pln. Choose your local state folder under MSFS or where ever you choose to place it. Load the sim and select more and then load. From there, choose the new plan. Once selected, MSFS will still show the departure runway, but when loaded, you will be at the location you selected. Like I said, a few extra planning steps, but will load your aircraft exactly where you want it for your MSFS ATC flights. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
