December 13, 20232 yr I'm getting a bit more comfortable with the (stock) MSFS/Asobo DC-3, as for controlling its heading and altitude (Sperry Autopilot not fully functional for me yet...), and still, I've way to go in terms of executing a good landing by (manually) trying to follow the needles of its Glideslope/Localizer Indicator Gauge....will have to see about that... Anyway, I took this DC-3, out today, in the Hawaiian colors, for an aerial tour around the Hawaii group of islands, and flew over/past all the 4 major islands of Hawaii, namely: Hawaii - “The Big Island” Maui - “The Valley Isle” Oahu - “The Gathering Place” Kauai - “The Garden Isle” The Hawaii chain actually consists of 130+ "islands" with 7 or so islands, inhabited. Among these 7, the above-listed 4 are the largest by area, and these 4 appear (geographically on the MAP) from East to Northwest, in that specified order. Hawaii's capital city, Honolulu, is located in the island of Oahu. Please follow along with me, here, on this (scenic) journey, as I fly from Honolulu (PHNL), encircling (clockwise) the 4 major islands, westward on the bottom side of the chain, to the island of Kauai, and then return eastward, on the top side of the chain, to the Big Island of Hawaii. In my virtual world, I saw golden shorelines, precipitous (coastal) cliffs, inland mountains (both sharp edged and broad topped), abundant greenery and vegetations, flatlands dotted with picturesque villages, and, of course, plenty of oceanic waters...🙂...it must be a magical place in RW... (need to visit it someday...). A point to note: The highest mountain of the Hawaiian Islands, Mauna Kea, is located in the Big Island Hawaii. However, unlike a typical mountain peak, Mauna Kea presents a rather broad and massive top (you can see this mountain in the background of a few of my fly-by pictures, below, shot #s 11/12/13/14). Hope you enjoy this set of 18 images, I captured, from my air-tour, out of the beautiful state of Hawaii, in this neat-looking "Fly Hawaiian" livery. Thanks for viewing.
