FSX-MS Textures Not Showing Up in FSX / Win11

Morning all,

If this is a repeat issue, please provide me the link to the older message.

Here's the deal;

I'm running Win11 and FSX (just don't know yet about updating to MSFS2020. I don't like the idea of having to be connected in order to run FS... a topic for another time...)

I've installed FSX and all of its associated updates on a separate 1TB drive, so the file is easier to look at.

I recently downloaded a DHC6-Vistaliner and XC182 aircraft package to add to my fleet. (I mention both files because the issue is the same with both. Therefore, it doesn't seem to be a file specific issue.)

When I install the packages, the "mechanics" install fine. The only problem is that both aircraft show up with no textures. When I go outside, both of them are the "primer gray" aircraft.

Is there some special place in the folders that  I need to install the textures for them to show up?

Typically the textures are stored in folders within the aircraft's SimObjects folder with a prefix of Texture.  Use the default aircraft's SimObject folders as a reference.

There are also instances where an aircraft may install files in the base Effects or base Texture folders, but these are only a few files and not the textures files required to display the aircraft's livery colors.

May be the possibility of DX-10 preview is set under your Graphics Setting.  Some addon aircraft have a problem with that!

If it’s isn’t dx10 preview then turn on missing texture alert in fsx.cfg to find out what the issue is.
