aviaFlightMonitor - Runway data update

Featured Replies

Hi Support,

I am aware that when I try to land on the third runway (New 07L Runway) of VHHH, the aviaFlightMonitor incorrectly detects that I am landing on 07C (Old 07L Runway). All the data becomes invalid in such a situation.

Therefore, I would like to check if there is any method to update the runway database of aviaFlightMonitor.

I have attached one of the landing reports for the third runway (New 07L Runway) of VHHH for your reference.

Forgot to mention, I am using aviaFlightMonitor for MSFS.

I just checked, no official navdata providers have included VHHH's new runway. So you are not landing on an official runway, at least yet 😉

I will release an updated navdata when the runway actual goes into use.

um... I am not sure about that. But the latest Navigraph navdata already include that runway information for both MSFS, PMDG and Fenix A320.

For the chart, the Jeppesen already released official chart for the new runway. Attached below for your reference.

Would it be possible to update the navdata from a Navigraph subscription? I land at many airport (especially 3rd party ones)  where the landing report show a significant deviation from the centerline, despite landing on the centerline. Many other addons are able to be updated through the Navigraph tools.

Thank you.

The typical Navigraph data doesn't contain the necessary information for aviaFlightMonitor (details about runways e.g. glideslope emitter positions, stopway lengths, etc).

This might change with the upcoming DFD format from Navigraph but until then, it will need to be a manual process on my side.

Thanks for your reply. How is third party scenery best handled?

Well, as long as the addon scenery creator is doing a good job and making sure the coordinates match reality, you should be good to go.

Would like to check any update about the vhhh third runway?

As I found that both Jeppesen and Navigraph already release the chart that include the third runway (RWY07L/RWY25R) as following

https://navigraph.com/airport/VHHH/Hong-Kong-International

https://ww2.jeppesen.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/VHHH-APP-CAO-pre-info-for-website.pdf

And the official data from the government also can found in following url:
