February 27, 20242 yr The management of transition altitude in the A320 is not clear. I don't see a place to specify the Transition Altitude for Departure or Arrival so my questions are: Is the transition altitude entered/specified as part of departure and arrival procedures or is it picked-up automatically ? If it's picked-up automatically, what's the source ? Thanks. zachlog

Transition Altitude Field for Arrival/ Approach is located below MAG WIND field, If you need to modify it for any reason or discrepancy, you can insert the correct value via MCDU 4L key.

February 27, 20242 yr Commercial Member That is actually a very good question. Transition altitude should always be auto-populated. If I recall correctly, it is linked to the Airport ICAO in the database rather than the country as I've seen some mention. This is because there are a few places in the world where the TA is different between different airports in the same country. The correct TA should always be verified with the chart and correctly manually if need be. Best wishes my friend!
