Brazil's Espraiado Canyon

Featured Replies

We are back in South America for another flight in Brazil. Today we visit the Espraiado Canyon not far from the Atlantic coast. I couldn’t find any details about this canyon except for many YouTube videos in Spanish or Portuguese language. This video shows a drone view of parts of that canyon.

We depart from Palhoca (SSKT) and head southwest and then west. We land at the Fazenda Belluno Airport (SJHN) and then follow the canyon south. To get a break we head back toward the coast and land at Ciricuma (SBCN). We turn back west, follow the canyon for a while, and return to the coast to land at Torres (SBTR). Again we turn west and land at Canela (SSCN) before reaching today’s destination, Caxias do Sul’s International Airport Campos Dos Bugres (SBCX). The city was established by Italian immigrants on June 20, 1890. Today it is the second-largest city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In 2020, the population of Caxias do Sul was estimated at 517,451 people, many of whom are of Italian and German descent. Nowadays, Caxias do Sul is an important city, and due to its industrious colonists, is home to vast vineyards, wineries, a varied industrial park, and a rich and dynamic market. Those attributes grant the land great importance; for such reason, Caxias do Sul is often called the "Pearl of the Colonies", and is considered the center of the Italian presence in Southern Brazil.

The flightplans are available here.

The flight has 256 miles and 4 landings. We want to cruise at about 160 to 170 knots. I will be in the COWS DA42 in a stock livery. Please fly what you like.

There are 2 freeware sceneries available at flightsim.to:

Palhoca (SSKT) is available as payware from AeroCB via ORBX.

We try real weather. Please set your simulator for a 4:30 pm departure.

These flights are also posted at DigitalThemePark and use DTP's Teamspeak Channel for communication.

If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here). Please be kind enough to enter the title exactly as it stands in the title=”xxx” line of the aircraft.cfg file. Your courtesy will save others a lot of time and effort. Thanks!
