March 25, 20242 yr On the A320 FCU there is a list of speed limits for (5) flap/slat extension positions- 1, 1+F, 2, 3, FULL. The control for deploying slats/flaps has only (4) positions- 1, 2, 3, FULL (plus 0 for clean). How do you map the (5) positions to the control ? Positions 1 and 1+F seem to be the key. I would appreciate an explanation on this issue. zachlog
March 25, 20242 yr That’s a logic thing and you can’t pick which one happens from what I believe. A certain set of parameters determines what happens in the FLAP 1 position. FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024
March 25, 20242 yr The FBW manual has a good summary of the flaps logic: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/pilots-corner/a32nx-briefing/flight-deck/pedestal/flaps/
March 25, 20242 yr 1+F means slats and flaps deployed (mostly takeoff), while 1 is slats only in flight before flaps deploy at 2. So for the first detent you have two possible configs depending on the phase of flight (1+F or 1), therefore there are speed limits for 5 possible configs but only 4 detents for the lever since position 1 is for both 1+F and 1.
