AutoFPS - GA VFR settings check

Featured Replies

I must admit, as AutoFPS has become more and more complex/powerful, I'm not completely sure that my settings are optimal for my main type of flying - VFR GA up to around 7000'.

Could any kind soul take a look at my settings here, and suggest any fields that I may not have set optimally for this kind of flying?   I guess I'm most unsure about the OLOD settings.

Personally, I looked at the latest version, and I think I will just stick with the version that was released a couple of weeks ago. It is simple, and it just works. I watched a 30 minute video on Youtube on the latest version yesterday, and half way through it, I was so confused, I just turned it off. YMMV.

It certainly is becoming pretty complex.  Hence I was hoping someone who is using it could just 'sense check' my settings.

I'm not even sure if I've got my 'min' and 'max' settings the right way around 😄 (Should lower TLOD/OLOD settings apply closer to the ground, or higher?).

I could just put it on 'auto' but I'd like it set up a little more optimally.

I watched a bit of that video. but I'm not convinced he understands the app as well as he's alluding. 'Reset' corrected him in the comments on a lot of points.

The way the older version works,, TLOD is set lower when you are below 1,000 feet, usually. 50.  OLOD is the opposite, higher when on the ground ( I have mine set to 100) As you climb towards 10,000 AGL, it goes lower, Mine is set to 20. Now the photo is the older version.
