Terrible shuddering when panning with Frame Generation

Featured Replies

I’m using frame gen with a 2080 8gig of vram with excellent results. Several months ago when I used dx12 my vram would max out and I would get instant stutters. Not sure what’s changed, but now with dx12 and frame gen my vram is still maxed out but with completely smooth results. I use a mix between ultra, high and medium with auto fps set to 57 fps. The one airport that causes stutters, regardless if I’m dx12 with frame gen or dx11 with no frame gen is ini ksat. Other than ksat, every other airport is great.

Paul. Have you tried using the AutoFPS utility with FG?  It reacts to a target framerate and automatically adjusts TLOL and OLOD in increments to compensate.  The combination with the FG mode is providing incredibly smooth results for me and I have General Options in MSFS literally max's out.  Would take a very short time to test.  AutoFPS, upon install, has a very good configuration out of the box.  I'd recommend trying it.  You simply install it and run it.  No MSFS or nvidia tweaks required.

One note.  You can run AutoFPS on top as you fly, where you can monitor it.  If you do so, make sure you click on your running MSFS underneath to make sure Windows reccognizes MSFS as its active window.  Otherwise FG is disabled until you do.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I have AutoFPS installed and running. I have tweaked about a bit with my settings and got the sim running a little better thanks, albeit still with a faint detection of shimmer around the shell of the aircraft, but not as bad as it was before.

Thank you

Paul
