April 21, 20242 yr It is my understanding that when exception condition messages appear in the ECAM, it should be possible to lookup the message in the QRH to determine action(s) to be taken to either resolve the issue or implement a workaround. When I attempt to do this, i.e., do a search in the QRH PDF, I never get a hit. For example, yesterday I received the message RAT OUT in amber font but did not get a hit when I searched for it so the broader question is what's the approach for resolving ECAM messages if the message is not found in the QRH ? The other question is how to turn-off failures ? When I received the above message, in CONFIG for FAILURE TYPE > NONE/Minor/All, NONE was highlighted but I still got the above failure. zachlog

April 21, 20242 yr It's fairly easy: If it's something you need to react to, it will show the steps on the ECAM. If it's not, it's just an information / something you cannot "solve". "RAT out" means you accidentally deployed the Ram Air Turbine. There's nothing you can do about it, because it can only be stowed on the ground by maintenance. That's why there's also nothing in the QRH. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

The RAT OUT condition occurred while I was on the ground just before pushback. What triggers ground maintenance to address the issue ? Is ground maintenance supposed to recognize and address the issue automatically or do I have to do something ? zachlog

October 28, 20241 yr Hi, I'm writing anyway, even if it's late. Surely you will have already solved the problem, but for those who face it now or in the future, here is the guide from the Fenix website. https://kb.fenixsim.com/how-to-stow-your-rat Edited October 28, 20241 yr by piero120379
