Crash to desktop on Loading

Featured Replies

Hello, I have been having a problem where most of the time the game will crash to desktop without wan error message. I can get lucky, and sometimes the game will work, but most of the time it won't. I have tried disabling all of my mods as well as doing a complete re-installation of the game with not luck. I was able to get some info from windows event viewer about the crash and will post it below. Also, I have made sure windows is up-to-date along with my video card

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.36.2.0, time stamp: 0x65a6e79d

So does anyone know what might be causing the crash?

Thanks

EDIT: the version on my d3d11.dll file in windows/systemt/32 is:

10.0.22621.3527  So I guess this is the latest from Nvidia. Found that version number in MS file explorer.

Not sure what you mean. My video car is a Radeon RX 6600 not a Nvidia card.

Your d3d11.dll file is older version than mine. Could be a newer version will cure problem. I'm not sure how to get directX from Microsoft site.

Thanks. So I just tried installing DX 12 from the Microsoft site, which should be the latest version but when I run the installer it says I have the latest files already. Do you think doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of DX would work.

I can't be sure how you should proceed. There were other reports of your issue here. Maybe something there would help.

Thanks, what I decided to do was search the file name along with CTD, and I came across a post which mentioned doing a repair of the Windows files. I did this and it seemed to work. I still crashed once when loading but have loaded it a few times, and it didn't crash, where before it would crash more often than not. So for anyone having an issue with this file causing a CTD, trying doing a repair of Windows files if nothing else works.

... and sometime this week (so they say) comes the SU 15. Which hopefully won't reintroduce the problem again, LOL. This sim can be a bit cranky sometimes...
