KSAV - Savannah - Hilton Head International

Recommended Posts

Freeware under development - KSAV Savannah - Hilton Head International.

First, I would like to address KRNO Reno-Tahoe. It's completed and should be released within a week.

On the heels of KJAX and KRNO, KSAV has been built from scratch. Over 80 some buildings have been designed in 3D, mapped, & textured. Google Earth was used for scaling of every building. KSAV is home to Gulfstream and every building has been included.

I am attaching several screenshots of the airport as it exists on my computer to date.

Please understand:
1. The computer I design on is over 20 years old and the graphics card does not produce the best screenshots. I.e. crispness of textures, etc.
2. When viewing the concourse you will notice many doors. These doors will eventually have stair sets that lead up to them.
3. The Afcad. It has not been edited and therefore you will see grass in areas where it shouldn't, and wouldn't, exist.
4. The jetways in the images are for reference only. They will be eventually scaled and suited to the types of equipment that populate the concourse.

Thank you much,

Michael (Mitch)

Mitch,

Thank you for targeting Savannah! Perhaps we can work together to make this as good as possible? I have limitations on photography of Gulfstream facilities, as I am bound by employer restrictions, however any other areas of the airport I can provide good quality photography reference material. I would also be happy to offer some hand texture files for the areas that I am not able to photograph. Would you be interested?

Kerry,

Absolutely! I really only need photos you have of the terminal buildings as there are very few. Even the versions of KSAV by MSFS 2020 and the current X-Plane are not even close to the real thing. I suspect the authors of those versions ran into the problem of limited material as well. But you would think they’d at least get the main appearance & dimensions from Google Earth.

Yes anything you have you believe can assist would be hugely appreciated. Especially night images. Thank you.

Mitch

Excellent work!

Makes my recent efforts rather pale into insignificance.

Part of a current project which I anticipate sharing in due course 🙂
