May 16, 20242 yr I see. 💡 The warning about the weather source is probably a hint. Do you use X-Plane in menu "Scenery Library"?. This can affect the flight plan since airports and navaids can exist in X-Plane but not in MSFS and vice versa. These two settings are important if you use MSFS: You probably have remaining files of an X-Plane (demo) installation on your computer. The weather warning will go away if you change settings as above. You can switch LNM on-the-fly between simulators and also transfer and export flight plans between them. But then it is important to check if airports or navaids are valid. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
May 16, 20242 yr Author Thanks. I used to have XPlane installed and removed it a couple of years ago. When I checked LNM Scenery library MSFS2020 was there as well as XPlane 11 (empty no simulator) and neither was selected (ticked) and so I selected MSFS2020 and then rebuilt the scenery library again loaded my flight plan (it was already loaded from previous session) and exported it as an MS2020 flight plan and opened in MSFS2020. RWY 08 is still selected in MSFS2020 even though 03 is selected in LNM. Must be a rogue airport. Time to put it into the "too hard basket" and "put it to bed". I have it seems wasted too much of my time. Regards John Gigabyte Z390 m/b, i7 9700K cpu, 16Gb Hyper X Fury 3200 ram, RTX2060 6Gb, Gigabyte 32" monitor, MSFS 2020 store edition
May 17, 20242 yr Author FYI I decided to 'crank up' my old PC which only has FSX installed and installed latest version of LNM and created a flight plan out of KABQ RWY 03, exported as an MSFS2020 flight plan and copied that flight plan to my 'normal' PC with MSFS2020 installed and opened it in MSFS2020. The SAME thing happens ie it starts at RWY 26. I cannot believe there is something wrong with my PC(s). May 17, 20242 yr There is definitely nothing wrong with your PCs. I think MSFS acts randomly (as you noted about cache above). Change the runway in the drop down box in MSFS. This keeps the flight plan. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
May 17, 20242 yr Author Thanks. Yes I know that I can 'override' the rwy in the flightplan using drop down menu. It's going to be cold today where I live and so I will stay indoors and might have another look. I sent my flightplan to a friend who advised me that it starts on RWY 03 so why won't my setip stat on rwy 03 I wonder. I seem to have other problems as in an effort to try and determine what could be different with my system I went into settings and turned off developer mode and changed screen from windowed to full screen, selected 'keep changers' and then apply and save yet when I return to MSFS (restart) the setting has reverted to 'windowed'. I reset to full screen a few times each time applying and saving yet it continues to revert to windowed. This getting me down. May 18, 20242 yr Author I posted a 'help' thread about 'windowed' mode and it seems there was a bug introduced in a recent new MSFS version which is supposed to be fixed with next update. I also meant to advise that after my friend confirmed that the flight plan starts at rwy 03 I loaded the same flight plan as I sent to him and the flight started at rwy03. Oh it must have fixed itself I thought but no the next time I started with the flight plane it started at rwy26. I have pulled the last hair out of my head! How can it change its staer6ying location. Oh its MSFS2020 you know! Edited May 18, 20242 yr by Jarnie Regards John Gigabyte Z390 m/b, i7 9700K cpu, 16Gb Hyper X Fury 3200 ram, RTX2060 6Gb, Gigabyte 32" monitor, MSFS 2020 store edition
May 18, 20242 yr Author VOILA! EUREKA! I think that I have solved the problem. As mentioned above I tried to get screen setting 'full screen' to stick as I wondered if there could be a link. Anyway I now think the problem is linked to the screen 'setting' as I started MSFS, pressed ALT + enter keys to go to full screen then loaded the flight plan. It started at the correct runway ie 03. I then exited MSFS and started again this time leaving it in 'windowed' mode and loaded the flight plan. It started incorrectly at rwy 26. I exited again and restarted and once again setting 'full screen' before loading the flight plan and it started correctly at rwy 03. Who on this planet would have thought that screen mode could affect the loading of a flight plan? At least after spending hours I have the reason. Another Asobo/MSFS abnormality and it's not the first bug I have uncovered since 2020. Grrrrr! BTW the screen mode automatically resorting to windowed moder apparently is a known problem which is supposed to be fixed in the next update dur later this month. May 18, 20242 yr Interesting connection between flight plan loading and screen mode. I'm not wondering since I've seen bizarre errors already.🙃 The next MSFS release (May 24.?) will hopefully improve things. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
