Flyover change in 7.0.0

Hi Nico,

I noted in the release notes the removal of the Flyover option. I suppose this is an elimination of the option rather than the removal of the option from the UI?

If so, I also want to confirm that there is no way to remain on 6.8.0?

Indeed, there is not, you cannot stay behind.
 

FYI: This option has been removed in the process of code refactoring. I am simplifying my code in order to make maintenance easier. I have worked for almost 10 years on this program. Tomorrow I hope to turn 71. I'm thinking of making the source available on GitHub one day, but for that to happen it needs simplification and restructuring.

I noticed the act of blocking an aircraft has also been removed. Glad your restructuring to make the program easier to moderate but i was wondering if that action will be gone forever? The action of blocking callsigns has saved my behind a countless number of times and i was really disappointed to see it removed. It helped so much with realism as i find live aircraft im trying to simulate would pop in in front of me quite often because im behind the real life aircraft position in the sim and its very immersion breaking :(

Yes the intention is forever, not many people voted in favor in the last poll...

This truly is a shame, but I can’t complain too much, the fact that you’ve been doing this for free is such a huge gift to the flight sim community.

The blocking function has been re-introduced in 7.1.0. The fly over will not return.
