No cleared for Take Off - contact Points

Featured Replies

I have the problem that the contact point for take-off is not always where it should be. This means that sometimes you don't get clearance for take-off and then take off without clearance. EDDL RW 23L for example. Sometimes the departure controller makes contact anyway. Sometimes you don't get a reply from ATC for the rest of the flight. I have already tried many things. I still use the old Radarcontact, back then in FS9, still usable today in XPlane 12. It always recognises when you are approaching the selected runway. Everything works without any problems. However, Radarcontact does not provide taxiways and does not always recognise the new runways or new airports. Pilot2atc is more modern and up-to-date. Perhaps this can still be solved with the contact points for takeoff and a resumption of radio traffic.

Did you import the taxiways from XP 12 or 11 default scenery?  I just got takeoff clearance for 23L using XP12 default scenery.

Custom scenery sometimes does not bother including the hold short points in the proper place or the runway end may be off, either of which can cause problems.

If you think your taxiway data is correct, or if you don't want to bother with doing the import, you can just request a midfield departure, which should be much more lenient in terms of where the program expects you to be.  "<Callsign> request midfield departure runway 23 left" should do it.

Thank you for the answer. I had indeed not yet imported any taxiways or gates. Xplane 12 maps the taxiways and gates very well. I have now imported some airports and made a test flight. It all worked very well, so I was able to check the taxiways with Navigraph and the tower declared the clearance. I noticed that I had two frequencies on the flight from EDDB to EDDF that were not set automatically in P2ATC or were not even in the frequency list. I then entered them manually and the centre responded. I was unable to import taxiways at LICJ and another smaller one. But many large airports worked without any problems. Is it possible to import all airports with one command in xplane 12 or do you have to import them individually? I haven't found anything about this. In Munich there is a long taxiway E2 between the two runways. In P2ATC it is called O2. It has quite a few contact points. Is it possible to rename these sections all together so that you don't have to rename each short section individually?
