June 12, 20241 yr Went to use P3DWX 3 days ago, got this series of events in my client 10:33: SIMCONNECT connection established 10:33: WX DATA initial download failed 10:33: Connection closed Still am encountering the same issue now. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no prevail. Anyone else having the same issue?
June 12, 20241 yr Older companies/freeware software who sales over the last few years no longer justify the cost of operations. Hopefully, I’m wrong but it’s hard to believe these developers will continue to pay subscription services for an obsolete product. Edited June 12, 20241 yr by kingm56 Matt King
June 14, 20241 yr Same here. Same events shown. Start up the client with FSX, finds the sim and simconnect, but hears nothing at all from the FSXWX server. It's been a week AFAIK. The website is still up but there are no announcements, so I don't know what's happening.
June 26, 20241 yr Two weeks later and no change. FSXWX still getting no reply from the server. Website is still up but with no announcements. In fact there has been no new activity on the site for quite a long time now. Just going to uninstall it once and for all. It's great when it was working - only gripe is that it restricts upper visibility too much.
August 5, 20241 yr Has FSXWX closed down or what I can't seem to find anything out, there's even no contact details on the FSXWX website to be able to contact them. There's no announcement on the website or anything, it's really frustrating as whatever I do I can't get it to work, it worked perfectly up to 11/6/2024.
January 20, 20251 yr Looks like FSXWX has closed down for good not even the website is live anymore. With this being the case does anyone know any GOOD FREE weather apps for FSX

January 28, 20251 yr Went through a similar experience 2 months ago and after waiting around for a week, I came to the conclusion that FSXWX has unfortunately said goodbye to us flight simmers. Even their website won't load properly now. It's a massive shame! On the other hand however it forced me to finally give in and purchase ActiveSky 2016 during their winter sale and I can definitely say it's worth the money. If you have the finances, please purchase AS!

The paid version of FSrealwx differs from FSrealwx lite only in additional functions, which are not really needed. And they load the weather the same way and not always up-to-date. Glitches with loading METAR are present in both versions.
