Anyone have experience editing the Fenix navdata database?

Featured Replies

The Fenix A320 comes with a navdata database in SQL. I am able to open and read it with TablePlus, but I am not sure how to customize it. I would like to add my own approach to a specific airport. I've read that someone has been able to do it, but I am unable to find any info on how to do so.

Best place would be the Fenix discord I suspect.  That link should allow you to join if not already.  Good luck,

You probably need to fumble around (compare the actual charts to the navdata you are looking at) with a lot of trial and error. I've made custom approaches for MSFS navdata. It appears Fenix, PMDG, JustFlight all have their own formats they use. I would suggest making one with MSFS navdata because there is more information on the internet(fsdeveloper, and MSFS devsupport) and in the SDK. Once you have a feel it's probably going to be easy to transfer that to developer formats. I would imagine Fenix's navdata looks closer to MSFS because PMDG and JustFlight seem to look simplified.

The problem with the Fenix navdata is that, unlike other aircraft, it uses a database instead of just text files like PMDG. The data in the SQL database is spread among various different tables, and it is difficult to see how approaches tie together. Doing this for the PMDG or for the navdata in the sim is easy.

I guess I will have to ask Fenix directly.
