I'm using the Demo version of AAO's to trial the Web server, but I cannot get AAO's to display the CDU( the boxes won't stay checked on the config page). Should the web API work with the Demo version of AAO'S? The sim connects to MSFS and the airplane is recognized.

  • That does nothing. They only work as automated scripts. They don't contain any code, they are just a "marker" to tell AAO to collect the data from the PMDG SDK.

  • Me too, sorry. This is not rocket science, those two scripts and the .ini file, that is all there is to it. You are using the latest WebFMC  version, right? Where did you download it?

  • If one was a global script, then they were both active at the same time. And that was your problem. Both Data and CDU have to be assigned as Aircraft Automated Scripts to each appropriate ai

They are not supposed to. They are only there so you can select items that you want to alter with the buttons below the list, nothing more.

The DEMO is fully functional.

  • AAO must be started with the "Run as Administrator" option (there is a setting for that in the "Application" menu too).
  • Make sure to follow the readme file. Getting a PMDG plane to send data requires additional steps.

  • 2 months later...

I have a problem using the webcdu.
I have configured everything correctly because if I disable the firewall of my pc the fms works fine on my iPad.
With the firewall on, the fmc doesn’t work, even if I have made an exception in my firewall.

Any ideas?

Thank you, Andrea

Probably insufficient firewall clearance. You have to create both incoming and outgoing rules, specifically for the WebAPI port(s) (there are two). Creating only one of those exceptions, or creating one for the AAO application won't work.

I have created the exceptions for AAO application with all the ports cleared both TCP/UDP. How to create for WebAPI ports (43380/43381), which application I have to indicate for the exceptions?

Port rules are not associated with an application. Not sure that you are looking at the correct things there. What type of firewall are you using?

In your firewall app, you should have a section for incoming port rules and another for outgoing rules. Plus probably some others, like for applications. Those others are irrelevant. What you need is both an incoming and an outgoing rule for the WebAPI TCP ports. Neither of the two requires that you associate an application with it.
