UNEXPECTED FLAPS DEPLOYMENT AT CRUISING ALTITUDE

Featured Replies

Hi Simmers,

After several checks, both in the FMC settings pages of the PMDG 777 and in the MSFS assistance settings (no assistance is declared), at the cruising altitude i reached during my flight, the flaps unexpectedly extended to 15 degrees on their own. It's really annoying if you've ever encountered this problem, and I'd like to thank you in advance for your help in finding a solution.

I forgot also i have the last updates of course of the PMDG 777.

Maybe check if there's a rogue control assignment for the flaps axis?

It may be but you can have multiple assignments in MSFS. Go to your bindings choose the Flaps and tell MSFS to look for all instances where it appears.
Good luck,

When you completed that check of assignments did you do so for each device you have attached, including keyboard?  Assignments are assigned within each profile, and there are profiles for most devices (mouse, keyboard, yoke, flightstick, pedals, etc.)   You should check through th profiles for each.

If you fly multiple aircraft and have configured individual profiles you also need to verify you are using the correct profiles for that model.  For instance I fly the wonderful Hjet, the Blacksquare Turbine Duke, the Blacksquare Analog Baron, etc,  The first item on my preflight checklist is to check Controls Options to verify I have the appropriate profiles active for the aircraft I am to fly.

Sure, but they don’t have to be bound to an axis, they could (and are I believe) bound also to F and Shift-F by the simulator. It double be could be any number of keys or combos of keys.  Are you sure you liked for ALL mstamces of flaps,
