How to Move One Aircraft Setup To A Different Airplane

Featured Replies

Hello:

I have completed the setup controlling everything for the C172 G1000. Now, I need to control the C172 G1000 Floats, an aircraft which the sim considers a 'different airplane' not a different livery.

I can "Save current setup as a template" but I cannot find a file.tmpl for it. So, although I have apparently created a template for the C172 G1000, I cannot figure out how to then create a copy of the template which will be loaded when I load the C172 G1000 Floats.I just know there has got to be a way, short of starting over and creating all of the buttons, etc. again. Plus, I think that would be a good subject for an entire chapter in your User's Manual!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Templates > Apply other config to this aircraft

Then go thru each binding to make sure they're correct axis.

There is none, that is not how it works. The Template is now in the AAO database, and you can either "Apply" or "Link" it to your other aircraft (same menu). Meaning, you climb into the new aircraft, then Apply/Link the template to it.

Or you do what Twenty6 wrote above. That is recommended if you want some items to be different than in the template.

I just did EXACTLY what Twenty6 recommended and it had NO effect! N  one of the X-Touch Buttons did anything!

You must be doing something wrong then. Or the aircraft requires different assignments.
Can you be more specific and describe in detail what you are doing when and how you are doing it?

This isn't supposed to be rocket science, it is just a simple click (or two, depending on what you are doing, = copying, linking or applying).
