Black Square King Air peculiarity

Featured Replies

I bought the plane and then just didn't fly it for a long time. But, as I suspected, the bug for a change of pace bit, and I finally have been trying to fly a King Air. I have the TDS 750 in it as well. There are some nits that really bug me, things like the mouse switch control, at times it won't give me an up arrow when i want for instance, but I can deal with those. The main reason for this post though, is that whatever altitude I set the thing at, it refuses to capture it 😞 Instead it always stays just 100 feet shy, lol. So I set 24000 and it stupidly goes to 23900 and stays there. I've seen the same thing on descent, I used VNAV to descend to an ILS entry at 4000 and it got to 4200 and stopped, ROFL.

So, this isn't some breaking type bug, but it is irritating. I'm just surprised when looking around that I see no mention of it. Anyone else see this, the weather in my test flight was default, so no baro offset that might be involved. Just looks like a bug to me. I'd be happy to hear I missed something?

Cheers,

Jack

I posted about this before. Press B and it WILL capture the correct altitude. The sim does not understand STD is 2992/1013. Some addons don't correct for this. Horribly amateur.

If I'm wrong I'm sorry, but all my BS ac before the Dukes did this.

Really? Well, it's worth a try, thanks!  🙂

Welcome! I had exactly same issue. Always a few hundred feet out ap cruise. Never what was set in ac. Cause is ap reading the ACTUAL external BP at the time instead of using 29.92. I pressed B because unlike fsx you need add ons to read the BP easily in msfs and bingo my plane immediately corrected it's altitude to the one I had set.

I filed a ticket with JF, and they responded very quickly, kudos to them!  Anyway, I hadn't noticed but I did not have the latest version. I downloaded and installed 0.1.3 and it fixed my problem. So, solution, be sure you're up to date 🙂

Thanks Just Flight!
