August 13, 20241 yr Cerasim have updated their Mi17: Bug Fixes: We've addressed all the issues reported by the community, including those related to sound, engine parameters, and overall stability. 3D Modeling Enhancements: We've refined the 3D modeling of the cockpit with high-definition (4096x4096) textures, improving every detail for a more immersive experience. New Features: Force Trim System for more precise control. Autopilot System adapted from the real model for stable and controlled flights. Beep Trim for fine RPM adjustments, enhancing engine management. Realistic Main Rotor RPM Adjustment: The main rotor RPM now adjusts more accurately to reflect real flight conditions. Joystick Mapping: We've added the ability to map additional controls on your joystick, such as the grip, searchlight, and beep control, for greater customization. Improved Flight Dynamics: We've fine-tuned the flight dynamics to offer a more realistic and comfortable experience. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm really looking forward to fly the Mi17 again after a long time! 🙂
August 13, 20241 yr I've been involved in testing the model for the last few months. Cross-posting content I posted to the official forums below: I’m away from my gaming rig / without Simmarket access for the next 8 hours or so to see what the final version number is (I suspect one additional iteration from what I tested), but without seeing their official change-log, I’d like to highlight a few…highlights from my experience: New autopilot Totally new interior textures New flight dynamics Revised modelling on some portions of the cockpit/controls New native MSFS control mappings (throttle, governor, searchlight) Fixed/enhanced cockpit night lighting Numerous systems-related bug fixes Dynamic registration numbers/letters now available. They display in the cockpit and on the tailboom for all non-military models (so it excludes the UN as well as the armed liveries). Added sounds, including air brake sounds when applying the brakes, additional switch/cockpit click sounds, working audio-warning/advisory system, etc. Also note that the sounds change if the side windows are open. You’ll be able to hear the chirping of the swash plate connection link rotating around, for example. Also note rotor slap and engine power whine changes during different phases of flight. With the audio warning system, you’ll hear advisories if the generators cut out due to low rotor RPM, fuel pump off/issues, engine vibration issues, etc. There are a few sim limitations that they couldn’t get around related to how some things work for helos in MSFS, but I’ll follow-up later tonight. HELPFUL HINTS: One must ALWAYS have the pitch/roll channel button on the autopilot on while in any phase of flight. If not, you’ll see that the helo is uncontrollable. The default cold/dark state starts with the rotor brake engaged. Ensure it’s off. It’s the lever just to the right of the pilot’s seat on the floor. Note that there are two landing light switches in two different locations in the cockpit. You’ll have taxi, search, and left landing light on or near the pilot’s collective, and another landing light switch on the lower right center pedestal. The audio-warning system has an on switch and a separate button on the upper left wall that says “off” which is more of a mute switch. You may need to press the off button once, and then the test button, to hear audio. There is a sim limitation involving twin turbine helos in that occasionally both engines try to start at once. To avoid this, ensure that only the fuel valve (red levers on the ceiling) for the engine you want to start is pushed forward. Again, I can’t claim to have found everything, and there are still may be some minor niggles that are insurmountable, but it’s all in all way better than it was, and I would put it on par with Taog’s Huey now!
