So the 'Working Title' G1000 is currently the 'most complete' working G1000 in MSFS ?

Don't install any additional addon. The WT G1000 is included per default in the sim.

The WT G1000 is not only the most complete working G1000 in MSFS, it is the best G1000 in any simulator, both default or payware. It is also the only NXI in any simulator, so if you are not lucky with what it is, you will not be more satisfied by any other option.

But is it really that hard and/or time-consuming to create a completely simulated G1000 in MSFS ?

Yes, it is. Matt from WT said, the NXI wit has tens of thousands hours in it ->

Are we stuck with this limited version of the G1000 in MSFS for now ?

Trip Planning is available on the SR22 and the source is available for any aircraft developers to add to their particular install (as it requires a bit of customization per aircraft).

Most of the items in AUX are not particularly applicable to a simulated environment and thus are not implemented. You can't change or load the nav database from inside the sim, there are no options available in the sim for Connect/NEXRAD, there's no way to implement XM Radio, etc.

Aircraft specific EIS, weight/balance, and checklist pages like are in the sim SR22 (and as mentioned here, IRL on some Diamonds) are able to be implemented by the aircraft developers using the avionics framework plugin system. They do not come with the NXi as each installer IRL chooses how they want it to be built custom for their installs, and they can differ (sometimes significantly) between aircraft.

GPS Status wasn't included because at the time we didn't have a complete GPS satellite simulation. All our units since the GNS do, though. We do want to add that eventually, but as you can imagine, we've been a bit busy in the few years since (the NXi came out about a year after the sim came out) doing the GNS430, GNS530, G3000, WT21, Boeing 787, Boeing 747, Longitude, TBM, SR22, and G3X Touch.

Interesting answers so far.

- Already thought that some options are hard to implement as MSFS is simply lacking some of the 'simulated infrastructure' ( Specific Radio, Radar networks, GPS and others )

I wonder if in future Flight Simulations Features like this will be implemented / fully simulated. Or even in some way added to the current one ? One can always improve.

- Also did not realize how many workhours go into developing these simulated avionics. And that you are working on so many other units.

Hope eventually - when you find the time - you will come back and 'finish' or at least polish the G1000 a little more - GPS Status e.g. :).

Keep up the good work Matt and Team - I hope you continue to improve - and I appreciate the work you've already done.
