Manual work around for Airport Elevation Adjustment?/Toposim

Featured Replies

ISO a method that involves editing the files myself vs. using airport elevation correction tool. I see most forum responses involve recommending the ACT from ORBX or GlobalFS, both of those come with heavy price tags, but I assume because they have an ease of use. One day when I buy a new computer, trust me, I am going to buy all the top dog meshes and tools, and have a giant terrabyte hardrive, but is there a method, no matter how tedious that works?

I am just trying to correct minor plateau issues at a handful of airports, as I only purchased the toposim southwest regional. (side tangent) Absolutely gorgeous mesh, surprised there are almost no reviews or videos on it in 2024. Insanely accurate, like freaked me out. TBH I'd recommend a mesh over any other add-on in 2024. Was nice to have a mesh option that didnt come with a giant file size.

I recently used the payware AFX (Airport Facilitator X) from Flight1 to correct an elevation problem which I discovered at a small Swiss airfield after installing new mesh for Switzerland. It is quite a powerful airport modification utility which includes a flatten tool which is relatively easy to use (once you have read the manual!) and it worked well for me. It will not however work with FSX Steam, only with the boxed FSX Accel SP2.

We are half way there, I found this solution finally "p3d perpared sdk v 1.4 for fsx". Had no clue that the SDK file in SE was a dud. I had been searching for weeks, finally found an easy solution. Copy, paste, sure enough worked. I am really excited to do some AI traffic.

Unfortunately AFX is no longer available, but i'd be willing to bet the SDK file was why it did not work for SE.
