Currently 25% off and I'm tempted...but the airliner I fly most isn't listed as supported-does that mean it won't work or just hasn't been tested yet?

And is a monthly navigraph subscription required for STARS to work?

I suspect the simpler fstarter might be better for my needs.

It will work (it works with all aeroplanes), though you'll have to manually configure some items in the program and it won't be quite as integrated as some other airliners (e.g. PMDG 737 & 777; Fenix A32x; Maddog MD-8x).

No, a subscription isnt requred.

That hasn't been my experience so far.  I just posted in their forums about the positioning feature, which when used with unrecognized aircraft, sets the position up in the right place, but leaves the airspeed at zero, so the plane does a vertical nose-dive as soon as it's in position.  With aircraft listed as compatible, it works as advertised.  It appears that the speed that's configured in the custom acft page isn't being written to the sim along with the position.

 

Edit: Actually, the positioning feature does work with unrecognized aircraft...I was missing a step in the custom airplane setup.  The dev answered my support request with a YouTube video he made specifically to address my problem, which is over-the-top awesome support IMHO.

Hmm. It worked *quite a while ago* when I tried it with the WBsim/JPL C152 and I think with the FFX HJet.

Exclusively use FSiPanel with the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 because how integrated they are with the program.

Double-checked the product page and it actually says a navigraph subscription IS required for STARS, otoh I've found a YouTube video using fsipanel with the fss 727 to give atc I think using training scenarios...need to play the video again to understand.

So sorry, I completely misread your question when I was distracted earlier. Thought you were asking if you needed a Navigraph sub for the entire FSiPanel program.

What you could do is get a subscription for navdata for just one month, update the navdata for MSFS, FSiPanel & whichever GPS unit you use for the FSS 727, then cancel the Navigraph subscription once all complete.
